As much as radicals get criticized for being "unrealistic," demanding entire demographics facing literal genocide always maintain mild rhetoric and actions is an absolutely delusional level of conformity to expect. I don't think that gets said enough.

You are a mark if you are getting propagandized to build more jails and arrest even more people at a time when all of the governments OWN MEASURES show violent crime having significantly decreased over the past years.
In general the ones labeled radicals are by far the least brutal among us. Normalcy is a war economy. Radicalism is placing value on all human life. It’s the great embarrassment of the status quo. Its reliance on brutal, unending, unpredictable death machines as order & normalcy.
So Yet another great example of why this guy is super fuckin’ stupid He’s gonna run for president. He wants to fast track a monopoly into the hands of a media empire that’s expressly interested in dedicating the full force of their resources to crushing specifically him And they will. Mercilessly
Murshed Zaheedwhen it comes down to it - @gavinnewsom.bsky.social bends the knee to big money and billionaires. This time he is bending the knee to billionaire monopolists - pushing for a media merger helping the right wing media project.
“This structure shapes how people understand one another. A new public commitment comes to appear as a cost imposed on everyone whose own needs remain unmet.” Incredible work from @greenbackbetter.bsky.social .

Everybody is talking about the “age of bronze” line but nobody is talking about when Odysseus says “Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy” to Zeus
Help! My symbolism! It's so overt! And very explicit!
My collection of political essays comes out on Tuesday! But you can order it now, to help a writer you love, or at least like, or at the very least have heard of, or maybe are just learning about. In any case, an exciting opportunity for us all! www.the-reframe.com/fighting-in-...
“A team of creatives have teamed up with a typography company to create a new type of font that’ll trick LLM scrapers into ingesting poisoned gibberish.” people are wonderful!

Idk if it's that they can't see its flaws, I think they know its flaws, but like all the privileges that come with ignoring it, and continue being uncaring and filling their pockets.
it truly is a simple test of the uselessness of a politician and we have massive things that absolutely need to be done quickly and aggressively and simply cannot afford dead weight. sorry newsom sorry buttigieg we simply cannot afford you wasting our time.
laŭraif an elite lobbying effort can convince you that you have to ban trans people from sports to survive in politics you straightforwardly do not have it in you to pass electoral reform, or stand up to the fossil fuel lobby, or do any of the difficult things that have to be done
There is no good faith concern. None. There are only people who never gave a shit about trans women in sports being manipulated into thinking there are good faith concerns and then normal people. You can't have good faith concerns about a few dozen people playing fucking sports. Shut up and stop it
victoria zeller⚔️ (RISEBALL, summer ‘27)enough of this shit
found myself thinking about Calvin Duncan again (I wrote about him and his case here ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...) and I learned that The Guardian sat down with him last week www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i... he's gonna run again, for the modified clerk position, in four years
Barred and Boujee aka Madiba Denniereally upsetting coda to the case of Calvin Duncan, an exoneree who, as I wrote last month, was elected by New Orleans voters in a landslide, prompting state Republicans to pass a law *abolishing* his position: Louisiana Supreme Court upheld the law last week ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...
The fact that people pay money for subscriptions to nyt, wsj, financial times, and the economist, literally just shows you the state of western capitalist propaganda. Imagine using your hard earned money to pay so western corporate news media can feed you capitalist and white supremacist slop. 🤮
Friend: but this trans player broke a woman’s nose! Me: they were playing volleyball. How many broken noses happen every year in volleyball? Friend:… Me: it’s not zero. Have you ever played volleyball? Friend: …I guess that’s a fair point.
83 yo mom is under the spell, so I shined a light on it for her mom: "men shouldn't play in women's sports. women had to work so hard to get their own sports" me: "hey uh, how'd the local high school girls' b-ball do this year? soccer?" mom: me: "name one WNBA team mom: and there you have it
