The thing about these companies doing HP tie-ins is they know exactly what they're doing. This isn't 2019, Rowling's views are going to be on the radar of any PR person. They've just run the numbers and decided that we won't lose them more money than the bigots and nostalgia zombies will bring in.

I've covered local government meetings for over 20 years, in a city where the mayor notoriously makes up rules to curb anything critical of city hall, especially clapping. So, it's worth a quick🧵 on how governments use rules of decorum to intimidate the public, even to throw opponents in jail.

You know, it's a really low bar, but I can in fact confirm that I'm not bankrolled by any gambling corporations.
