*whispers* you know we can do this cultural debate about art thing all the time, right? Websites and news organizations used to have culture critics on staff whose entire job was writing about books, movies, and TV. People read them and then discussed them. We have the technology to do this again.

The existence of disability accommodations isn't the problem. The problem is inflexible pedagogical practices designed for a specific neurotype and physical ability level, ignorant and short-sighted disability services offices, and the artificiality of every common proxy for measuring understanding.
The fury with which disabled people react to "everyone is faking their alleged disabilities and even if they aren't, the accommodations for it are unfair and too easy to get" is because from our end, it's *not* easy to get them, and they often don't actually do what we need them to do.

Chuck WendigI enjoyed Nolan's ODYSSEY quite a bit, and found it more moving than expected. I also read Wilson's critique and found that both enjoyable and insightful. It's not even really a bad review -- it's an incisive dissection from the POV of someone whose knives have long been sharpened on the material.
