I’m doing the best I can, and also the worst I can get away with

When my wife did chemo and radiation, she would go outside once or twice a day and shed the hair as it all fell out. Today, seven months later, we just found a nest a bird (likely a wren) made out of her hair.

She is, of course, an academic (and translator) who has studied this work and period at great length, which may seem unfair to bring all that expertise down on a pop-culture artifact. But she did make a strong case that the film is muddled in unfortunate ways. (I'm hoping to see it soon.)
