Rather than a General Election, I think I'd favour a full investigation into Nigel Farage's finances.

The theory that “electable” means “work to appease right-wing bigots under the assumption that majorities agree with them, at least partially, and they prioritize it when voting” has been tried. It has failed. Try something else.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

I know because capitalism and whatever but it sucks looking at the catastrophic amounts of money and resource that go into sustaining car dependency and forcing generative AI on people and then thinking what anything like that money and resource could do for public and active transport and the arts.

This essay has been on my mind since 2023 and I'm happy to have finally published it. It's an argument for UBI that may not resonate with many, but if it does, I hope it does strongly. I feel so much gratitude for every human who came before me, and I fight for a better future for those yet to come.
