How about robust mental healthcare and UBI/social programs to lift people out of poverty and provide economic opportunity so kids don't feel like the only option they have is to join gangs (let alone become so dark and unhinged that they idealize mass shootings)?

Moderates caused this mess. Insisting on moderation in the face of fascism is insane. The answer to fascism is not to incorporate a little bit of fascism in order to moderate between extremes. People need their basic needs met. Period. You can't look at that and go: "Let's do a baby step."
