Men who are violent play violent video games, but men who play violent video games aren't violent. Correlation is not causation. Most young men play violent video games, but only a tiny percentage of them commit violent crimes. It's well documented that video games don't cause violence.

And even if it doesn't work well, we can take notes, pivot, and go from there! But people talk about it like even flirting with a vaguely progressive idea is a slippy slope straight to the Khmer Rouge. Why do you suppose that a city government -- the same entity responsible for health inspections and enforcing food safety laws -- is less well equipped to maintain food safety? The city could, say, keep a health inspector onsite and probably be more stringently up to code than the private grocers.

Why the fuck do for-profit hospitals even exist?? Profit motives and medical care should be mutually exclusive.

Not sure what your point is. Liking "killing" and liking first-person shooter games are two completely separate things. It's different when one knows it isn't real. People like horror movies even though they'd never want to experience what they depict.

No. That is the exception, not the rule (men commit the majority of violent acts, including homicide, but the vast majority of men are non-violent). And there is no causal link between playing violent video games and committing acts of violence.
