Basic income is breathing space.

Universal Basic Income is centuries old, its reasons predating the first computers. We can demand everyone has a basic floor as a basic right without perpetually waiting for signs from above.

Good books on this would be "Bootstraps Need Boots: One Tory’s Lonely Fight to End Poverty in Canada" by Hugh Segal or "The Failed Welfare Revolution" by Brian Steensland. Basic income isn't inherently left or right. It's a multi-variable tool with incredible potential yet to be tapped.

Tried to bring this over from IG. You might think I'm against this but not at all. It's about choice. It's about valuing people first, then trusting in their ability to choose. We're a busy bunch. We want more.. We want to become something. We want acclaim, fun, connection, and yes, meaning.

For all the "work hard keep half" bros... explain to me temporary foreign workers. explain already occurred technological based layoffs. explain why unions ever happened at all?

The ones that don't like UBI and say "if you want more money get a better job" are the same ones who dont understand why you don't want to hang out at your work, your fabulous career, on weekends.
