Good books on this would be "Bootstraps Need Boots: One Tory’s Lonely Fight to End Poverty in Canada" by Hugh Segal or "The Failed Welfare Revolution" by Brian Steensland. Basic income isn't inherently left or right. It's a multi-variable tool with incredible potential yet to be tapped.
