WOAH. Blazers leaked emails show they refused to respond to city emails asking basic questions, weeks before any “first-class” claim was mentioned, contradicting Dewayne Hankins claim that that claim “chilled negotiations” They were not negotiating in good faith since the beginning.

ultimately so funny that rip city mgmt’s approach in these emails was “we would rather die than create a written public record of anything we say or do” and then their lawyer just forwarded the whole thing to the City

Consider the people you know in 2026 who are wiling to answer an unknown number, listen to a pitch, and then willingly subject themselves to several minutes of questions about politics, a topic which almost no one alive enjoys - and ask yourself how well these folks represent the rest of us.
abovoadmalaIsn't polling a fairly mature industry? How is it so ineffective?

Councilor Candace AvalosNext up: Vice Chair Green and I have invited @portlandneighborswelcome.org and their partners to tell us about a single-stair design competition they recently organized. The competition is part of a broader initiative focused on mid-rise housing development and single-stair building code changes.
Thank you for inviting us to present! We were so delighted to show off the incredible work of the design students who participated and talk a little bit about the policy conversation and real-world development context of single-stair building code reform! The full submissions are here: pnwdreams.org

It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough
Imagine the amount of propaganda it took to convince millions of people that healthcare, food assistance, social programs, clean water, clean air, good wages, housing, equal rights, diversity, and a healthy planet for all people was somehow a threat to America and to Christianity.
The Portland Timbers handed the rival Seattle Sounders their fifth straight loss with a 2-1 victory Saturday night >> https://www.kptv.com/2026/08/02/bye-scores-late-goal-timbers-2-1-victory-over-sounders/
I wrote an open letter to Blazers President of Business Operations Dewayne Hankins following his testimony to Portland City Council yesterday. I will include a few excerpts in the replies, but please check out the full piece: www.blazersedge.com/trail-blazer...
They’re effectively demanding the city either give up power with no return, potentially exposing us to greater liability in arena maintenance down the road, or negotiate blind. This is just plain bad faith negotiation. Then they go on to complain about the city economy and taxes because why not?
It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that
Apparently it's more rude to tell someone to stop interrupting people than it is to constantly interrupt people 🙃
My heart has been with Rip City fans today. ❤️🔥 You've loved this team through thick and thin for generations. 56 years! 🥺 You deserve a future where the Blazers stay in Portland, and you deserve a negotiation that respects both your loyalty and this city. I'm going to keep fighting for both. 🫶🏾
high income taxes and a divisive political environment prevents basketball success? wow, the Knicks really won't ever win a title huh
Fischer 🛠️🚇if this is going to be the line then fuck these guys
Brainstorming session in Dundon's suite before this meeting: "How can we get the people of this city to give us another couple hundred million?" "That's easy. We tell them we hate every fucking thing about them and their city and everything they stand for." Business genius.
After enjoying fifty years of devoted fandom and support I find it downright shameful for a pro sports team to send their lobbyist to city hall and just flatly say into the mic that the city sucks, in an effort to shake ‘em down for hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars with zero accountability
i like avalos' point that portlanders are technically paying thrice because state, county, and city tax dollars are all going to this. really good from a rhetorical standpoint
