JesseI’m all for holding elected officials accountable, but this is just silly commentary from The Seattle Times. All I’ve gathered from this morning’s paper is that The Times really dislikes Katie Wilson and income taxes on the über-wealthy.

I was on the scene that day and watched people flag police down to talk to someone walking away from the fire. My law enforcement sources confirmed to me this evening my description of the person I saw was consistent with the suspect. Here’s the story so far: www.spokesman.com/stories/2026...

Something I think is really important when it comes to Katie Wilson is making sure you're interrogating the Seattle media ecosystem and taking note of how they downplay her accomplishments and attempt to camouflage them with provocative headlines and panic. She's getting shit done.

BREAKING: This is gobsmacking. An arrest––for arson––has been made in the Old Trails Fire, which destroyed more than 700 homes in the Spokane area. A DNR fire investigator was able to locate the origin to w/in a 10 sq m area. The fire was started with nothing more than a butane lighter or match.

I also think it’s so interesting that the story doesn’t point out that one reason this was the one first thing the new Mayor did is because of the grassroots organizing of @fixthel8.bsky.social. But we aren’t whiny NIMBYs so I guess we can’t be cast as having built strong community support.

No, the engineering project actually includes a new route to I-5. Anything to make it look like a progressive mayor is causing chaos, I guess?

I love these seasonal shade canopies at Point Defiance Zoo. They're both in animal enclosures like the polar bear exhibit here as well as some visitor spaces for people to sit in the shade. Imagine this over playground equipment to block the heat and rain. Cool or dry places to sit in parks.
