The feeling of apathy that Imran alludes to here is what I spend my days of university teaching fighting against. My biggest advice: do cool shit that computers can't replicate. Sing for a person you love. Go in with friends on a truckload of Porto's pastries and hand them out in the lobby.

I've commented here and there, but my biggest thought re: Wilson's review / criticism of Nolan's film is that far too many people have forgotten that criticism involves *critique* and not just an extended, in-depth advertisement. Other critics should aspire to be half as informed and engaging!

Hear me out: myself and @johnrobertmatz.bsky.social as creative consultants for the remake. Terra and Celes remain the two leads; we play the torching of Maranda and Celes' failed defecting to warn about Doma's poisoning; we also play the Light of Judgment in Mobliz as Terra rescues children.

I am well aware that $5,000 isn't even a rounding error for a game budget, but I would have assigned this one to a major university course that has 50 students a term for multiple years in a row. What a fun way this would have been to talk about the past meeting the present of game development!

I don't announce it publicly with regularity, but I was diagnosed with autism as a junior high child (the now out-moded Aspergers' variety) and I received both diagnosis and the treatment/therapy for it because I am a man. Women my age / generation almost univerally were not given the same care.

Fellow forum user DarkCecil13 (younger brother of a high school friend, and I hope he's well!) had me check out the site in 2003 and I registered the next year when I headed to college. Can't recommend the site enough to all my followers but I'll specifically tag @ludomusicology.bsky.social here.
