There’s a moment near the end (won’t spoil for others reading) where it was very clearly “Spider-Man pulled both triggers simultaneously” a la Marvel v Capcom and honestly I loved it in live-action format.

ALSO we desperately need mental health care access. It is as serious a pandemic as covid and as a nation we have almost no desire to help people find assistance, counseling, and support.

For what it’s worth I thought it was readily the best one of Holland’s Spider-Man films. Glad it is doing well!

Okay more seriously I would be interested in both your and @heartbreak.one’s thoughts about what games freshmen gamedev students should have to play for “intro to gaming” class. It’s a huge challenge to balance cost, accessibility, and quality.

I’ve said my number one reason for not using or engaging with it is that I would lose all credibility with my students forever and irrevocably. Our reputations (collectively; not about me) for being smart, articulate, kind, etc. is all we have in academia — why risk throwing that away?

No formal connection to Doomsday helps this movie a bunch; though there is a character who will very obviously have more to do on that front, the appearance here is meaningful to Peter's arc and not just a teaser for something cool later. This is the way.

you know I had not thought about it specifically, but I have _never_ been asked why I refuse to require online multiplayer games (that is, games you nearly can't play solo: Valorant, Rocket League, etc.) in any of my gamedev courses by a queer person or a non-white person. Ugh. :(

(also, thank you to the numerous women in my life who continue to hold me accountable to a high standard both personally and professionally. I like to think I'd make it without you all sometimes, but frankly that is unlikely.)
