This is a shot in the dark but does anyone (preferably German it’s okay if not) have an app or a recommendation for a meal prepper that helps me decide what to eat and make a shopping list? It’s one of the things holding me back on my weight loss journey because I have choice paralysis 🥹

Because I get so overwhelmed that I end up not eating for the entire day and then only eat one large meal which just completely fucks my metabolism and it’s the one big thing holding me back and genuinely ruining me

www.simonandschuster.co.uk/books/So-Eas... It's not in German, but this book is really nice for breaking things down and making eating accessible for executive dysfunction, to help with that paralysis.

It has a page that's a shopping list, that's really good for breaking down food groups, necessities, and flavour. The author herself struggled with a lot of issues around food, so the whole idea was simple, easy, but tasty. To remove struggle and road blocks. It might fit what you need maybe 🙏

I was literally just about to recommend this for the same reasons

Oh hey I just got this book today! I've seen her videos and they really helped make cooking more accessible for my disabilities. Ex: cutting up veggies became way more realistic after getting a veggie chopper.

I know the feeling. I can get stuck on a decision for hours or days if noone helps me with it. I want to lose some weight myself but even if i just eat some veggies and rice i feel like nothing is working. My depression also keeping me from really working out especially in this heat... You got this

Are you okay with eating the same thing or do you need variety? I’ve seen meal prep where they make meals and only switch it up with the sauce for example

As far as I know is the app "picnic"in germany amazing, because you can plan different recipes and they deliver it to you then 😊 It also has a price lowering If you buy stuff in bulk. Prices are fair, lot of families I know use them 😊 I just really hope they already are available where you live 🤞

Another (unwanted) tipp for planning the food of a whole week: If possible, give every weekday a destinated food group (noodles/pizza/salads/rice meal/...), so you only need to think about specifics and not every food available. I have a Pizza and Chicken Nuggets day for example 😆

Ich hab selber noch nicht viel Erfahrung mit der App, aber hab gutes über "Paprika Recipe Manager" gelesen! Hat keinen GenAi bs wie andere wie Choosy, und du kannst das basic Zeug machen wie Rezeptspeicher

I'm not german, but I second this suggestion. Paprika recipe manager is what I use and it's quite nice.

I don't know if it's quite what you have in mind but I've been using Picnic (food delivery app in Germany) which does recommend recipes to you and conveniently lets you put all the ingredients in your basket. It's helped me find inspiration on what to eat a few times already.

Proud of you, I feel that choice paralysis 😭

What should the app/website base the recommendations on, nutrient values or something? I should probably look for one for myself anyway, so I can forward what I'll find. The only one I used before was recommending recipes based on given list of ingredients - so, probably not as useful in that case.

apps.apple.com/us/app/sidek... It's an app run by a few British friends and chefs. It has a weekly meal plan with a variety of preferences built in. Lots of variety in the cuisine and is in metric with some "freedom units". Every meal I have ever tried from their YouTube has been delicious!!

I use Yazio, you can track your calories and activity and they do have a lot of nice recipes

play.google.com/store/apps/d... Supercook is the one I use, cause I get Major choice paralysis/ I'm not always the best at knowing what I Can. You pick the items you have and it'll fill in recipes with those in mind, and let you build a shopping list for items in those recipes you don't have

Sorted Sidekick helped me a lot with this. Plans groceries for multiple meals, so you won’t have any waste.

This is semi-adjacent, but since you've mentioned ADHD and being neurodivergent, if you haven't already, you might want to glance at information about interoception and see if you have any aligning difficulties there. :) GL on your journey, you can do it!!!!

KptnCook und Upfit sind gut, Upfit ist manchmal ein bisschen hektisch mit Kalorien zählen, aber gut im Gazen und großen! Viel Erfolg Shen <3

Yeahhhhhh

Sorted Food might be worth looking into - they are UK based. iirc you can select from their recipes and it will put together a shopping list for you

I really like and appreciate Sorted’s Sidekick app!!

I've been using FDB to track what I eat where you can track whatever you have right now (as in looking up/scanning food by their codes) and how much, but I dont think thats what you are looking for right?
