Ehn, I still think absolute hierarchy and authority without self criticism or reflection is a principle. Fascists will still obey orders that allow them that freedom from responsibility to others. They fantasize about possessing that authority without restraint in their own little fiefdom.

In fascism, identity is the principle. In fascist psychology, identity defines morality - you are good based on your identity. There is no effort, no complicated system of right and wrong to work out, no laws to complicate the justification of action. One simple principle, do you serve the identity?

Imo it's the ur epistemology of right wing thought: the appeal to authority of a rigid dogma isn't even about the dogma but the fact that *you* determine the authority to the exclusion of others (and other ways of knowing, creating values, etc.). Essentially "I want it & get it because I said so".

YES. That's why fascism was a per-se invalid notion until the GOP got everything it wanted and found itself still hungry.

You’re describing the rejection of the civilizing process. Sadly, the preconditions for that resistance were and still are prevalent in the U.S.
