am i imagining the evil timeline and some weird self-pining? or did that happen?

I don't remember any heavy flirting with any of Xena's (7?) look-alikes, clones, or what have you, and definitely nothing intimate. I also can't find anything with a variety of methods. Imagining there were is understandable given all that did happen. Someone mentioned the Callisto swap as a maybe.

But the Intendant is a good example. Yeah she can play a sexy vamp, sure. But so what? There's a million more interesting ways to take Mirror Kira than that.

It also happens in an episode of Red Dwarf, where the crew goes to a parallel universe where they meet their others selves. The majority is the opposite gender. Dave Lister has sex with Deb and Dave later gives (offscreen) birthday to twins. Lister is also his own dad.

There's a great episode of Red Dwarf like this. They visit a mirror universe where gender roles are reversed and the main character becomes pregnant by his female mirror equivalent. Its pretty good

Depends how it happens. I'm not familiar with Buffy, but I don't think it would be in DS9's case. They are completely different people who happen to share a name and genetics, but otherwise have lived entirely different lives. I guess the closest analogy would be identical twins separated at birth

For a really long time, the only way you could get away with queer representation in media was if the queers were the bad guys. This carried over into the 90s, even while we were getting better representation, and... let's face it, evil can just be kinda hot

I remember two characters identical to Xena, but not of they've ever interacted with each other. Then again, I haven't watched the show is a very long time.
