Scott Pelley obviously had a way back. He could have sold his soul to hell like Weiss, Nick Bilton, and every else in CBS and the Trump MAGAt circle. Scott could agree to lie and debase himself like the FoxNews losers. But, if refusing orders to do that is a breach of contract, I guess no $$$$.

To me, it was a red flag learning that a digital blog of opinion articles called itself "The Free Press" long ago. Trying to gain a shortcut to credibility by appropriating the description of an entire profession seemed inappropriate & gimmicky, especially when it's not even a printed publication.

They never wanted journalists; they wanted content creators.

It is so nice to see someone actually fight back. Not just quit and be quiet, but openly push back against those taking advantage of societal politeness rules to get away with their BS.

The very way they approached conflict with Pelley makes clear they did not and do not understand the journalists they now employ. You think they won't ask tough questions? You think they'll cave? You think they won't ask follow-up questions? Have you ever even WATCHED "60 Minutes"?

I wonder if Bari Weiss is under the impression that Scott Pelley has been banished to a timeless void where he is unable to see her lies about their meetings and discussions and easily refute them.

I’m amused that Bari took a swing at trying to have people see her as anything other than a low down dirty snake.

Needs updating, but this is in the same spirit as the old PR piece of advice to clients during the newspaper era: "Never argue with someone who buys ink by the barrel." Scott Pelley in today's independent media environment is that person. Everyone hears what he says.

It is horrible what has happened to 60minutes. I stopped watching after the Cecot BS. There are a lot of shows I enjoy on CBS but after this absolute annihilation of the news team I just can't. I will not watch ANYthing that CBS creates. Nothing and paramount+ can go fuck themselves
