I like quite a lot of Christian metal and hardcore bands, but if you name your act "Pipe Bomb," I'm definitely going to think you're a more traditional hardcore act, not a Christian one.

"My perfect white American knights were absolutely ruined by a bunch of spectacled professors and grubby, accented FOBs." Is not a compelling argument for WASP supremacy, I must admit.

It is funny that this person thinks “immigrants defended the union while native born whites sought to destroy it in the name of slavery” is an argument against immigrants being Americans. This is precisely the point, nothing about being born here makes you better bsky.app/profile/aphc...

I have not seen what evidence exists about these attacks, but I'll say that it's not exactly 4D chess for the enemy to pick targets they think we won't defend, and a lot of important stuff lives in blue states.

Trump: "We heard in Minnesota there was a cyberattack and they blame it on Iran. I don't think so. I blame it on Minnesota because they're grossly incompetent. Iran's got bigger problems than worrying about Minnesota."

There are a few people who do this and they are all tarred as wet blankets or nerdy micromanaging wonks, and it's highly gendered.

No like genuinely I think a huge part of why people become convinced that tradeoffs aren't real is because literally no politician is willing to honestly admit they are. I don't mean waffling about "hard choices," I mean precisely: because of [x], [y] has become more expensive, so we are doing [z].

There are at least 2 reasons Republicans want the Lab Leak to be true. 1.) They can shift blame for their mistakes onto China. 2.) If the pandemic was an Act of God, God killed all the wrong people. And they can't believe that.

public health guy

a lot of what we're seeing today is downstream of the lab leak conspiracy theory. there's a lot of people across media, including legacy newsrooms, who went down that rabbit hole and never came back up for air. it's embarrassing, and no surprise, it tends to be the people flambéing their brains on X

I cannot engage with the Fauci stuff. It transports me back to being on the bench on midnight shifts during 2020 and 2021 when Republicans did everything they could to kill more people and it makes me feel whatever word Germans have for "incandescent rage grief."

I always find it instructive to consider what a complete asshole thinks makes someone *else* an asshole.

Baggy “jorts,” a portmanteau of “jeans” and “shorts,” have amassed a growing number of fans in recent years — such that, in 2026, it is safe to say that we have reached Peak Big Jort. Now, baggy denim shorts are de rigeur among younger New Yorkers. gothamist.visitlink.me/jqIGbk
