If they were able to be successfully prosecuted at the state level Trump could not pardon them. But the only way to try them is federally at this point and the Republican AG isn't going to do it. But win back the White House and the new AG can make it happen it's going to be at least 2 years

The AG in question is the AG of the US as opposed to state AGs and DAs. The AGotUS and the DOJ work for Trump and have gone well out of their way to keep local LE away and not allow anyone to see evidence or lack there of that they have collected. State AGs are having to find unconventional ways

Trump can pardon him for federal crimes which is why states, like Maine, are trying to pursue state charges. ICE refuses to allow anyone to see evidence from these crime scenes that ICE stages so it's hard for a state to build this case but there is a lot of eyewitness and camera evidence as well.
