I use audacity as a free DAW. It's fine. Hit me up if you know of any other options out there that are as good or better. Some how I find the interface clunky, but maybe that's just me and why I prefer hardware over software.

Recording most tracks yourself? I thought I needed to punch in, sample record, redo ad nauseam until it was perfect (annoying when holding a bass guitar). Turns out I could just record the bit on loop to my computer and just cut the best and send it to my sampler. Any tips from samplers out there?
