Teens are going through all the garbage we are PLUS they have hormones all over the place, an education system made to fail them (at least in the U.S.), AND more scrutiny and abuse from social media than any other generation... Yeah, yeah maybe cut them a break.

100% agree. Remember, everyone has boundaries that need to ne respected too, especially your teens.

Make jokes about their teenage years when they're 29 and they'll be ready to agree.

Absolutely this. It may seem trivial to you, but it does horrible things to a teenager's self-esteem. They will get enough of that from their peers.

I'm not getting into fights in your mentions but also "maybe don't do this thing" with a bunch of "okay but you agree *I* should do the thing, right" replies is going to end me.

i mostly just ask them what anime they're into and give 'em some recommendations

Growing up, people making teenager jokes and comments really made me self-conscious about myself. And it took a good amount of time to really move past those feelings and be happy with myself and my looks and whatnot.
