This summer, in my neck of the woods, we've seen a rash of *preteen boys* on dirt bikes riding them on the extremely busy and high-accident roads outside of the milly-dollar-house neighborhood where they live. Without any knowledge of traffic laws, some without helmets, no parents w them.

I asked the beloved two things when we got married: 1) Never ask me to eat green beans 2) Never ride a motorcycle

Honestly, I’ve been scared of motorcycles my entire life. My dad was in a very bad accident in his 20s. A flat-bed truck stopped suddenly in front of him and he ran into it on his bike. He has nerve damage to this day in his right (dominant) hand.

My Father was a ER Consultant Radiologist whenever he was on call and had to go to work in the middle of the night, it was invariably due to a motorbike accident

this was what a friend said to me while she was in med school and working in an ER. "don't ride motorcycles" was her big takeaway from that experience

Devils advocate, it very much depends on the person, licensing requirements, and training. Most motorcycle accidents center around either very new, young riders, or elderly riders, and most commonly involve large bikes (large displacement sport bikes for younger riders and cruisers for older)

I am not blaming the victim here but like, goddamn, why do we need motherfucking motorcycles to be street legal
