That's a super tough one. Our ped told us kids need to be exposed to flavors multiple times to truly decide, so we instituted the "no thank you bite" early. If they didn't want something, they had to take a bite, & then were free to eat whatever else on the table they wanted. Over time, it worked.

I saw somewhere that if you remove the tape and labels from plain cardboard boxes, they make excellent redirect chew toys when a teething pup wants to gnaw something to bits. You can tailor them to their size/interest, and they have the added benefit of using up some of that youthful energy.

Yep. Zuck/Meta recently bought a $3.5 billion dollar (3% stake) in EssilorLuxottica, maker of Ray Ban. Oakley is a subsidiary of the same company, and apparently Meta plans to partner with them soon to add an Oakley line of these creeper spyware glasses as well.

That's right. I never understood cooking the lettuce inside the burrito-- hot and slimy lettuce? The melted cheese and sauce is a base for all that cold, crispy goodness (also add lots of diced onion for me, please).

In my experience, there was very little pay to be had, and it was extremely difficult to apply for (as someone who cared for both my mother and mother-in-law). I'm so glad to hear that it's available in some circumstances.

Good for you. My husband and I just had this conversation, and we intend to support them the same way. The one nearest to us is currently closed for deep cleaning, but as soon as it reopens, we'll be there for bean burritos and some good fiber.

I think about all of us who cared for our own elderly long-term, and the level of expertise we gained in the process. There should be an accreditation program where we can take on work of this type and be paid well, yet bring these costs significantly down. This is crazy. I'm so sorry.

I read it. There's a whole lot of taking advantage going on in these particular relationships, but the original question was what's wrong with making less money?

Perhaps our resident economists should also lead with that good point. Looking at the replies here (& on similar posts), I see mean snark toward people who are worrying about hunger. Food insecurity is top of mind for many as aid is being hollowed, & 'median income is higher' data is cold comfort.
