By exaggerating its cars' capabilities, Tesla is preying on seniors' fears about losing their mobility as their health deteriorates. It's unethical as well as deeply dangerous. This kind of thing that wouldn't happen in a country with credible oversight of car companies.

This is framed as a feel-good story, but it should scare the wits out of anybody on the road. Tesla's deceptive marketing is convincing seniors that the cars drive themselves. In reality, a human must always be ready to intervene. If someone lacks the ability to do that, they shouldn't be driving!

Honestly weird to me that people put their titles etc. on business cards. If someone looks at my name and has no particular associations with it why should they have my email / phone number. Possibly this reflects my having no memory of a time when telemarketing did not exist.

I have had good success in the last two terms with writing an exam question, running it through a model to get an answer, and then giving my students that answer and having them evaluate and improve on it. I think this is more kin to what they will actually find themselves doing in practice
