I think your explanation discounts Black political power, and as a result diminishes how anti-racist the Democratic party is. Black voters don't have to vote for Democrats, Black voters vote D because they have shaped the Democratic party to their ends.

It is good to question priors, but it's not of much use without an alternative theory. There is no economic mystery to raising wages, Biden raised low income wages significantly. Progressive tax brackets can rein in wealth.

Empirically, deflation & price fixing do damage regardless of economic form. What is the alternative theory where they don't, that also explains why they have in non-capitalist economies.

Price controls have the same effect in socialist economies for the same reasons.
