This the kind of deal you only make if you need revenue now for whatever reason (capital intensive expansion, not missing payroll etc etc) such sacrificing increased future revenue is worth it. Or you’re doing corruption. Which sounds more like FIFA?

This only makes sense for fifa member states if they think the future revenue of fifa events is lower than what the current sale of shares implies. Or you know if the people approving it planned on pocketing a bunch of the money and being gone by the time it proved out as a bad deal.
