I think UEFA was able to mobilize to stop this dumbass idea so fast because they have the recent memory of mobilizing to stop something that was much harder to stop in the Super League.

One thing that sucks is that it turns out a lot of people’s theory of anti-bigotry rests on first never being accused of bigotry. Impact vs. intent, lived experience, all the stuff people professed to believe on the left. For so many it’s just straight out the window when they’re asked to live it.

One thing I wish a lot more people grasped about good faith/bad faith is that the whole reason people argue for things in bad faith is to convince others to hold and spread those beliefs in good faith. Lots more people then fall into the latter camp than the former.

Again because this story is breaking contain. It’s not World Cups, is all FIFA tournaments which includes a lot more than just men’s and women’s senior World Cups. This matters a lot because part of the proposal for increased revenue is increasing the number of tournaments fifa puts on.
