I've remotely coordinated coverage for and covered SDCC with @comicsbeat.bsky.social for several years now, and I have to say that this was one of our busiest cons ever. The entire team produced such great work, from flying through breaking news to crafting thoughtful editorial pieces. 🧵

So what's bananas about this ("this" being the art team for Avatar Aang seemingly researching how to design South East Asian characters on ChatGPT) is how they recast nearly the entire voice cast to be more ethnically accurate, then asked a lying plagiarizing machine what they should look like.
