This is PLACENTA CAKE, an ancient Roman version of a Greek cake, plakóenta (flat plate). It would be cooked on a hot flat surface, like a crêpe & layered with cheese, honey, nuts. Why would they name a cake after the mammalian placenta? They didn't! It's the other way around! (📷: Neill George)

Some of the folks that build these technologies were friends of mine in college. It’s hard to look back at some of those warm memories and imagine those bright and thoughtful folks making the legacy of their labor such a putrid and parasitic undertaking as “AI” has shown itself to be. Disgraceful.
