90% of the time if there are no lyrics in a piece of music I am bored. doesnt have to be in a language I understand but I need humans singing words to hold my attention. occasional exceptions are a cool song by some artist I saw here and Jacinthe’s battle theme from pokemon legends ZA.

If we’re going back 100 years it’s all great-grandfathers. The answers are “wandering criminal, subsistence farmer, town criminal, clerk” for paternal/paternal, paternal/maternal, maternal/paternal, and maternal/maternal of them respectively. I would easily beat all of them at their jobs.

Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?

Just gonna add that someone gave me flowers exactly once in my entire life & I still think about it all the time. A hand-gathered little bunch of wildflowers she wrapped in newspaper and handed me as I stepped off the plane and that’s a forever-level bright memory. Consider for the men in your life!

A thing I learned a while back that blew my mind is that men almost never receive compliments, especially cishet men. Giving a man a compliment will literally make their year

13. The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett. Fantasy murder mystery that (deservedly) won Hugo and World Fantasy Awards for best novel. Great characters and a world that feels fresh and original. Nice anti-oligarchic theme, too! Oh and there's a map at the front 👍👍

thinkin about making some linen shorts with the leftover material from my linen shorts. the only question is, do I have the courage to make them short enough?

Some of the folks that build these technologies were friends of mine in college. It’s hard to look back at some of those warm memories and imagine those bright and thoughtful folks making the legacy of their labor such a putrid and parasitic undertaking as “AI” has shown itself to be. Disgraceful.

'No public meetings were held to discuss the project before it was officially unveiled. Meta had other requests, too, like sufficient electricity, water and land.' Fuck all of you.

At a certain point i feel like it’s on you if you fall for a grift. Like, back in the day some people just dressed like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles... but now you should be able to go “oh that’s the Monorail* getup. No thank you I will not be investing in your scheme.” *Yes I know music man

The 10k extra folks who perished from heat in the EU were conscious. Folks choking on flagrantly illegal emissions from gas turbines on data centers are conscious. I’m sick of these headlines! It’s clear companies drivin this bubble have blood on their hands; but let’s talk about clippy’s feelins.

Could AI be conscious?
