Like, if you block me for this disagreement, I won’t be happy. I won’t think it’s deserved. But my feelings are immaterial. It’s your social media experience, and the app should ensure you’re allowed the power over it. My feelings may be hurt, but the app shouldn’t favor my feelings over your choice

I’ve been blocked by people I don’t want to be. Sometimes I don’t think I deserved it. So what? Why would my wants be superior to theirs? You should never be FORCED into hearing from someone you don’t want to be by the app. You can add ways to block, but never remove choice from the blocking user.

It’s a silly idea for his personal gripes that is really easy to abuse. People are mad that Bluesky isn’t better at booting bots, and we want to give them the ability to spam you once a month after they’ve been blocked? Just so someone who gets blocked a lot feels slightly better? C’mon, it’s silly.
