It was impossible to fit the mouse’s sheer swag and the game’s title in the same image.

It should be a very similar experience on both - it runs at 60fps on the Switch. No extra benefits to playing it on the Switch 2 at this time.

I've been loving these. It's so cool to see art studies applied to the games medium, and it's been fascinating to see one person's take on what it means to dissect RPGs from every angle.

No really, this is executed with a lot of thought and care. Love Finds its Way to the Girls is inspired. Guess and Check slaps. "Sometimes when I go home it doesn't feel like home" playing over the hometown theme in Apple Shampoo is... 👌

That rule doesn't seem to apply for game certification systems. One "fuck" and your game is in sicko town.

Is cow titty milk sexually suggestive? Do berserker mushrooms count as "fantasy drugs"? Does Welsh swearing count as swearing? What constitutes nudity for a furry character? What counts as "realistic violence" for a mole with a lighter? Much to ponder.

Oh, yeah, broken “rules” everywhere. Mixed palettes, mixed aliasing and anti-aliasing, inconsistent shading. But it knows how to put the assets together to build a bigger picture. It’s cohesive.

Oh, to be a mascot character from a forgotten 90s Sunsoft platformer…

The kids absolutely deserve their own Farthing Wood. I don’t think there’s been anything like it since.

I’m only halfway in, but I’m finding this game less obtuse in an early 90s RPG way, and more obtuse in a cryptic crosswords way. “All the information is on the task.” It’s good stuff.

Ace Attorney. The games differ from the formula in that each successive episode is bigger and more complex than the previous, but other than that they fit cleanly. Also No More Heroes.

Stereotypically, north is working class, rough but warm. Think Sean Bean. South is posh, polite but reserved. Think Benedict Cumberbatch. The stereotypes come from the way Britain's been shaped by its university, finance, mining, and shipping industries, but obviously they're reductive.

I imagine falcons have a colloquial name like “deathwings”, but more academic types would identify them as “rocs”. Starlings would probably be called “those damned singers who won’t shut up when I’m trying to sleep in”. But since this is all out the game, your guess is as good as mine.
