A Polish-born woman in Des Plaines who “had done everything right” has been in ICE custody for the past year. Green Card for 20 years, sought citizenship. “And it didn’t matter.” www.chicagotribune.com/2026/07/27/i...

Tons of peoples' Claude chats are exposed on Google. Cryptocurrency keys, API keys, login credentials, legal discussions, more. This happened with ChatGPT last year. And Claude too. There's clearly an ongoing issue with search engines indexing peoples' AI chats www.404media.co/tons-of-peop...

Dark Souls 2: Armor? Fake. Elemental defense? Real but also conditionally useful so fake. Weapon scaling? Also kinda fake. Poise? Oh you bet that shit is fake. Weapon infusions? Real. Base AR? Real. Rings? Somehow the most powerful equipment in the game.
Chris PersonDark Souls 2 is so mechanically obtuse that it makes me love it more. Armor is basically meaningless and a full Havel’s set has the same damage reduction as a single specific ring. Poise is fake. Your I-frames are dictated by two arbitrary stats that both contribute to a third arbitrary stat. ❤️

The reason Zohran scares the shit out of them so much is that they think this sort of technocrat FDR liberalism/market socialism will *work* and be popular, not that it will fail and be unpopular. They're afraid that he will be a good mayor not a bad mayor.
lowtax speedrun enjoyerzohran is a completely normal (mixed-market socialist/new-deal liberal/whatever) and it’s completely frying the brains of people with too much money or whose livelihoods are built on catering to the opinions of people with too much money

I think people who do not work in media have trouble grasping how genuinely terrifying it is watching organization after organization (even those ostensibly held by entities able to fund them!) continually get carved down into nothing. Lights going out all over
Asher Elbein"Most of the affected employees were at National Geographic, both at the cable network as well as editorial and operations." 🫠

DSA is a democratic organization. The Democratic Party is not. If you are a member of DSA by being active you can greatly impact the organization on a local and national level. National asks for member input on key questions. Any member can be a nat delegate. Any member can propose local resolutions
ESATry finding your county party, and approach the *volunteers* already working there with curiosity and not judgment. Should be an entirely different experience. If it’s not find out how you can help them and change things.

There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing
Omar WasowWhy has DSA grown? One argument from this research: not just ideology, but organization. Strong membership plus ongoing and continuous participation in social movements creates credibility, committed volunteers, political skills, and durable electoral capacity. www.niskanencenter.org/inside-the-d...
