DiscoPup is one of the most amazing and wonderful games made in years, please give it your attention, I'm amazed by its existence and also amazed it hasn't gotten more discussion and attention, it will richly reward the attention you give it. Thank you for your attention to this DiscoPup!
Megan FoxMore folks need to go try DiscoPup and leave a review, cus the dang thing's at 97% positive, but just needs like ~20 more reviews to tip over? store.steampowered.com/app/3380950/... (also it's nifty as hell, very Lynchian)

A lot of people (accurately) point out that premium video games are cheaper today than they were 30 years ago thanks to inflation, but discussed less often is how much bigger the margins are for game companies now that sales are 80-90% (soon to be 100%) digital. No more retail or packaging costs!

my argument to the execs is: if no videogame professional is now receiving a living wage for their craft, who is going to be buying all those nerd trinkets you produce to sell to them. perhaps now you can see what a mistake you are making. AI has no bookshelf on which to display these

As the director of a historical video game preservation institution, and someone who has dedicated his entire adult life to this cause, this is accurate. We have attempted to work with the industry's trade organization to find a legal path forward, but they refuse to offer a meaningful alternative.
Chloe "in ✈️ at home" Adamspiracy is the only extant form of media preservation that exists in games right now, you might find it morally reprehensible but there is literally no other institution that will keep games alive in 25, 50 years' time

idk how you unfuck the economics of game dev, but big studios constantly going "we just can't afford all these developers who we pay like 60% the market rate for engineering roles w/ comparable experience at comparable non-game-dev companies" doesn't reflect well on studio execs' basic competence
