Too many people in this space ultimately only care about their ability to play games. Their entire ideology is based on the premise that games are some right accorded to them. When that's your most core belief, nothing serious can be built on top of it.

If you're using any non-Audacity DAW it should save .WAV files the moment you hit stop recording

I always make it myself, but most of the time when I eat it, it's thawing out cubes of the stuff from the freezer. Which IS good, but nothing compared to eating it the day of cooking

It's what I'm trying to do personally. I asked my agent to no longer send me NU auditions because I'm lucky enough to make enough from the union work (which is still far less than nearly every other full time voice actor)

I mean it's what I just said, it's for enough "big names" to stop being so selfish and taking on this NU stuff because "the conventions will pay for it". Eventually clients will realize they can't get the people they want.

tbh the union doesn't need anything, it's not at fault for the deplorable state the industry is in. What the *industry* needs is actors who are privileged enough to be booking regularly to say "Hey, I'm already making more than enough, I don't have to have to take on the low-hanging fruit anymore"

Thinking on this again and the saddest thing is a remake of both of them would almost certainly be non-union work so I wouldn't even see the audition. Pretty much none of these old JRPG remakes/remasters are union, the only exception I can think of offhand being FF7R.

Squished in the middle of this story was this heartbreaking paragraph. Unconscionable.
