They sure do put a quest marker on the map for the one time you need to solve a ridde though. That sucks. And the localisation is just worse than the original's because they decided to redo it entirely for some reason.

Me as I point to the Trails in the Sky remake which just keep the script basically entirely the same as well as the kept the exact same layouts of the maps, towns and individual rooms, just now full modern 3rd person camera scale. And they didn't need to split the games up more to fit it in!

I feel the expectations need to be lowered a bit in this regard.

Yeah needing a group for the first vault for some upgrades is rough. Getting a magnum is sort of required to make the first rooms not The Worst. As of Tuesday they will actually patch in an Actual Solo difficulty, it makes the bots less accurate and take more headshot damage.

Yeah it just feels cynical when management is seemingly realising when you split one story into parts that means you get fewer sales with each game because people haven't finished the earlier ones, and the third part is still due.

This reminds me of a youtuber I saw once complaining that Garfield Kart would shut down his computer with a controller plugged in and it turns out the problem was that the most upvoted steam config for Garfield Kart at the time was a community config that bound every button to "Shutdown Computer"

Meanwhile I'm like "that's probably for the best".

Yeah I kinda wish these were much more baseline but I think just bailing early to get points is probably a more efficient way of earning it.

I think it's good those things exist, but you shouldn't be obeying it like some sort of ironclad rule. And a lot of this is a problem of people not reading the recommendations written into how to play those maps! The creator of the maps will probably say if not pistol starting is more intended!
