Sadly it's not just #JodrellBank losing funding, with deep cuts across the board for UK astronomy. One example is the HiPERCAM project whose funding has been entirely cut to save £50K/yr - peanut-levels of £s. Spectacular fast transient science lost, for what? 🔭😡 www.zmescience.com/science/astr...

Oddly, in spite of having considerably fewer employees than Sony (we have one - me; Sony have more than one), if you bought an ebook from Obverse when we opened our doors 18 years ago, we guarantee you will still have a copy today (just drop me a line with your order number if you can't find it!)

We're so sorry to hear today of the passing of Bill Oddie...a friend to nature and a supporter of the Trust. Bill used to cycle out of his Birmingham home to visit #UptonWarren many years before it even became a nature reserve. Thank you for everything you did for wildlife Bill 💚🙏

Infuriating, especially when crushed aggregate is readily available from demolition waste, and can easily be diverted from landfill as part of the circular economy. The last concrete building I demolished weighed 3,155.6 tonnes, of which 99.64% didn't go to landfill.
Phil Sturgeon 🌳🚵⚓️Remember the “108 ancient woodlands” HS2 was going to destroy? The actual ancient woodland loss for HS2 in full would be 39 hectares. This one ancient woodland that Reform wants to destroy is *40 hectares* This quarry will produce mostly crushed aggregate. www.bbc.com/news/article...
