This one is aimed at the players! Has your character ever had a rival or grudge that they have made their mission to get revenge because of? How did it end up working out for them in the end? #TTRPGQuestion #ttrpg

What is the best threat/intimidation tactic you have either done or had done to you in a ttrpg game and what was the result of it? #TTRPGQuestion #ttrpg
Don’t threaten me with a good time
Alexander GlassI have one answer.
🧵This feels like an accurate and enlightening look at AI and how it's ultimately fucking us all over as a culture. www.thenerve.news/p/cory-docto...
Not only was she loudly right about everything and reviled for it, in 2017 O'Connor donated 30 years worth of clothes and makeup to trans girls in Ireland.

Thinking about making some new merch… because I need it myself
An AI shill regurgitating an idea already by several others like them is just absurdly on-point. But no, I despise AI, I despise the companies that push it, I despise what it does to our planet and our collective intelligence, and I despise the fact that it robs artists of their work. Fuck AI.
Brittany EllichThis. I don't think anyone is really anti-AI. They're anti-the-companies-pushing-AI. LLMs have some really incredible use cases. They can be assistive technologies, help with mental load, and allow you to focus more on the present than an endless stream of tasks or your phone.
This is true and I feel it in my bones. (Also, stressing what I reposted last night - go and support Rascal! Remember how the TTRPG community echoed a cry over Dicebreaker? Here's your chance to not let that happen again.)
𓇢𓆸𝑭𝒆𝒅𝒆ꫂ❀Do not even think about uttering the tired old lie of there being "no money in tabletop": for it is dispensed in large sums to influencers, indie darlings, and corpos, whilst the people who truly enrich the artform increasingly feel the need to beggar themselves for scraps. Rascal deserves to go on
Very much this Ive always stood that there is rules layering (I.e trying to manipulate the rules to be a weapon against others) and being a rules attorney (helping everyone with your knowledge either by filling in gaps in knowledge or a siting others as a beneficial tool)
𓇢𓆸𝑭𝒆𝒅𝒆ꫂ❀By the way? There's a radical difference between rules lawyering within a bad faith context, and interpreting rules in your own advantage when in a place where everyone establishes respect for each other. Exploiting rules can actually be very fun for you and your opponent if the vibes are good.
It's amazing how nice it is to be kind and the joy one can feel from being able to alleviate stress over the smallest things. When you can choose, pick kindness
I could probably talk about City of Mist for a solid hour. I'd probably be able to talk for at least 5 minutes just explaining the premise, 20 minutes on character creation and advancement, maybe a few anecdotes from play, and an example of Why You Should Actually Play By The Rules.

An hour is a long time! Probably a big meander through how lots of post-2010 games boil down to GM fiat, and that's _fine_, but consistency is important. Something like "crunch enables consistency"?

The pervasiveness of systems, and how if you aren't using a rule system for your game you're using a different one: social contract and/or language rules most likely.

How stories that come from player choices are far more interesting to me than what I have planned, and how active listening and taking tea breaks to re-orient play their parts in that GM style. Also covers points such as "If a situation is resolved by an NPC's actions, why are the players here?"

Why Design Isn't Just for Designers: A methodology for approaching homebrew in any system, and how to understand what makes a ruleset tick enough to give nervous GMs the confidence to play with the mechanics.
