Yeah, that's a pretty weird thing to say to someone. I'd be unsettled and uncomfortable if someone said that to me and tried to frame it as a compliment, and I'm a nerdy white dude.

I'm still reading to see if things get better, but cheapened is defitely a fair take regarding this section of the story right now.

Yeah, that definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I don't mind hijinks mixing with real-world commentary. However, the writing surrounding Joyce and Dorothy getting together and the protest is significantly clumsier narrative-wise than most other emotionally and politically charged arcs.

This is why I read the most recent DoA strip each day, or at least most of the time. I'll then reread each scene once it completes before I really cement my thoughts on what's going on. I do the same thing when reading Gunnerkrigg Court and Questionable content.

I'm on the Gunnerkrigg Court forum because it's one of the least flame-y online entertainment spaces I've ever encountered. People will go deep when debating various plot theories or interpretations, but once it crosses into personal attacks it gets shut down very quickly.

It's super scummy, but hardly surprising. They know what they're doing amd are not ashamed of it. I think a good portion of them get a sick sense of pleasure from muddying the waters.

I have fewer migraines now that my mouth is less crowded, though. Before that if my wisdom teeth ever shifted I was more susceptible to migraines for up to a week at a time...

Getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted definitely made me a bit more hesitant to go to the dentist. I still go, but now I have to mentally prepare myself the day before even for the regular 6 month cleaning/checkup. I was white-knuckling it for probably the last 30 minutes of that extraction.
