Concerns over fake phenomena cannot be held in good faith. There's no such thing as "good faith" concern over razorblades in Halloween apples or vaccines causing autism. If you still have 'concerns' about these issues you are uninformed, a bigot or being manipulated. No other option.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

Seconding Old Gods. Shadows at the Door is another good horror podcast, and for the most part the individual episodes are standalone (or just a couple of eps to the story). The Penumbra Podcast is a favorite, though I haven't listened to their new stuff (just Juno Steel and Second Citadel)

It was just that no one had bothered to take the time to explain things in a way they understood. Instead, if they didn't understand the single way the teacher taught it, they were told they were bad at math. Utter bullshit.

When I taught math for a tech school that had quite a few older adults going back to school for a career change, getting over the "I'm bad at math" internalization was harder than teaching any of the math they needed in the program. And most weren't bad at it...

Found some pics! I don't miss living there generally, but there are definitely some things I do miss.

I lived in Portsmouth, VA for a while at a ferry dock and it would occasionally get used for events. Some of them were tall masted ships. Some were pirate ships. It was AMAZING.

I'm the same - Neill was so crucial for me growing up on so many axes, and as an adult he has been such a positive person. It hits me in a way other deaths haven't.
