This is a very quarter baked idea but it feels like it would make way more sense to Sovietmaxx with government owned restaurants/food halls instead of grocery stores. You get far more significant economies of scale, less food waste, more time savings for poor people who don’t have time to cook etc.
Will StancilPolitics aside, do people believe city-run grocery stores with deeply discounted prices are a good POLICY idea? What are they intended to accomplish, in your view? What problem do they solve? Would you implement them if not running for election? I'm sincerely curious in people's answers here.

Expert artist rendering of how Palo Alto could've saved the start of the 49ers' season. Alma St doesn't need four lanes here. Traffic calm it with protected bike lanes and traffic circles, and crashes like the one that seriously injured Kyle Shanahan get a lot less severe.

Israel is giving Trump's former campaign manager millions of dollars to fill the internet with pro-Israel articles written by AI, not so that anyone will actually read them, but so that *LLMs will train on them* & regurgitate their perspective. This is the future of the information environment.
But the Mayor just posted this! She's creating capacity! bsky.app/profile/mayo...
Mayor Karen BassWe’re building affordable housing faster than ever before, creating capacity for hundreds of thousands of new homes, converting vacant office buildings into housing, strengthening renter protections, and helping prevent people from falling into homelessness in the first place.
Even worse, the infinite spiral of homeless spending just makes voters more mad that the homelessness problem never seems to get meaningfully better. There's a Prop 13 1978 style tax backlash brewing - and it's going to wipe out *all* Left priorities.
Ben PhelpsI listened to LA podcast today discussing the homelessness numbers and left Los Angeles still can't admit to itself that if we can't address market rents homeless services spending does not matter

This is exactly what Alex Jones is doing. It's part of why we're doing this. Corrupt people have found an end-around for paying out in the American court system by hiding assets in shell companies and just continuing onto the next scam.
American WomanThis is precisely what Trump did to the Taj Casino contractors after the structured settlement he was ordered to pay them and never did. It's been over 30 years.

Alex Jones, who has not paid a single cent to the Sandy Hook families despite owing them $1.4 billion, has been in a $3,000 per night suite in Hawaii for the last few weeks illegally using the InfoWars accounts to boost his traffic. Today he said there's going to be a national draft in three weeks.
