After open heart surgery more than six weeks ago for a mitral valve repair and maze procedure, several sessions of cardiac rehab, and a visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, I’m ready once again to climb the nine steps from the pews to the chancel at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston. ⚓️

And only recently did I come to realize that the mitral valve is so named because, from a certain angle, it resembles a bishop’s mitre. ⚓️
