If anybody was excited that Science Fiction Weekly is aiming to "revive" Daily Science Fiction, you should know they are straight-up lying about having gotten permission from writers to republish DSF stories on their website. (Yes, I have sent a DCMA takedown notice.)

It'll sound like heresy, but the antidote to a lot of this is to take both art and criticism *just a little* less seriously. Our virtue doesn't ride on every stranger's sentence. Discussing the arts is what we do with friends. I couldn't survive if I read with my guard up 24/7.

I gasped out loud at this. I don't think I've ever seen a judge this obviously furious. Also I may be reading too deeply but the 'notwithstanding' bit reads to me as "either you did all this on purpose or you're unqualified to be a lawyer. Either way, it stops here."
