One thing that often happened while we were all feverishly printing as many whistles as possible earlier this year is that we'd get a plate that got mangled in printing or didn't toot like it needed to toot. Hating waste, we started sending those to my mother, who is an artist in Minneapolis.

I'm extremely curious about who owned it. I have some thoughts but that will require a separate amount of research. This article is going into the state newsletter first then I'm going to submit it to the national magazine/newsletter. If it gets published there, I'll share the link.

The photo is currently mounted onto period mat board. It had a modern mat over it and was placed into a very plain frame. There was a note tucked behind it stating where it was taken. It was likely put there when the modern matting and frame were added.

But the photo itself is really interesting. It's not a typical photo you find during the early years. There are eight people in it. It's framed to capture as much of the space as possible with them in the center. It almost reads as a test photo. But I doubt that's what it was.

I'm currently 1200 words into a huge write up of the context of the picture itself. We did a brief one back in April because we're trying to figure out who donated it to the Ohio DAR for the Junior Bazaar. At this point we have no idea where it came from. And I'm nowhere close to figuring that out.

Since March, I have spent a few hours each day reading through early DAR Continental Congress proceedings. This project came about because a friend of mine found a picture from one of those Congresses. It didn't take long to figure out which one. But identifying who's in it, has taken months.

It's going to be Gen X and Millennials holding tech together until we die. But is this what we want? Honestly, I think we should let it die.

Awful stories like these are what Trump & co. basically want for Haitians and others. We know sending people back to certain places likely means death. The cruelty is the point.

But you don't know the circumstances for why that is. It often is a parent doing what they can to make sure their kid is fed. There are many reasons someone sticks to a few, easy, quick, guaranteed to be eaten meals. It does not make them a bad parent or bad at parenting.

"THEY are keeping us down" has always been their winning narrative and they don't understand why it stopped working once they took over and became THEM.

My brother went through a phase where he would only eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Our pediatrician was fine with it. He was eating. Honestly the foods that most kids gravitate toward aren't terrible in combination.

At the end of the day, the kid is fed. And honestly, pizza, nuggets, and mac & cheese are actually pretty balanced. I would be more concerned with the parents who can't afford to feed their kids and figure out why. Fed is best.

As a kid I was extremely picky. I had access to a wide variety but I wasn't thrilled by it. As an adult, will I eat almost anything? Sure. But my go to foods are still those I preferred as a kid: Eggs and toast Potatoes (all forms) Sausage (all forms) Roasted carrots Sweet corn Peaches Pears
