Kevin Hassett is a one-man argument for reviving tar-and-feathering.

They’re really really bad at this and I hope they keep up with this messaging. “Sorry you’re struggling to afford basic living needs, but check out my new boat!”

As Stokley Carmichael (Kwame Turé) said, “if a white man wants to lynch me, that’s his problem. If he’s got the power to lynch me, that’s my problem.”

"If your neighbor thinks some kooky things about communists, it might make them kind of an intolerable jerk, but they don’t have the power to do anything. But when the FBI or CIA or other institutions that have power think this way, then it starts to have real implications” — @sethcotlar.bsky.social

I’ve always loved the “full responsibility” gambit, esp. when no consequences will follow. It’s like Robert E. Lee “taking full responsibility” for Pickett’s Charge. So what?

The greatest argument for retaining booze in Parliament is that if you had to spend your days with those folks, you’d need multiple drinks, too. Same for the U.S. Congress.

LiLBaz

Huh. I recall nt long ago a newly elected MP questioned the boozing in parliament & triggered a spectacular multi-week meltdown by the nation's most sensible Sensibles chin stroking & pontificating abt why the corridors of Westminster overflowing with booze ws nt only good bt virtually a natural law

Happy August to those who don’t fear and loathe it.

It IS the day before the markets close for the weekend, after all.

Congrats on getting Hamas to say “okay fine, we’ll disarm after Israel totally withdraws” and Israel to say “okay fine, we’ll withdraw after Hamas totally disarms.” No one’s accomplished that before, better make it the top headline.
