IDK why but something about Ti West always rubbed me the wrong way. Him directing a movie with known abuser Johnnyh Depp sorta seals the deal for me, fuck that guy.

I've stated I'm not the biggest fan of the movie, and that and Stand Alone Complex (which I LOVE) did unfortunately lean so heavily into unshakable stoic badass so it's great to have something more in line with the manga I like...

I'm really loving the new Ghost in the Shell. The first episode was like "Hey, remember how Kusanagi was actually goofy and chaotic in the original manga? Let's ONLY do that". They found the right balance between all around badass and horny goofball almost immediately in the following episodes.

Not going to lie this move has been.... Really rough on me. I feel like I've lost everything. I want my life back. But I've accepted that isn't happening. It's been reset.

And now they seem to have forgotten that crucial moment to do a worse version of it with Nancy being the one cutting it off. Honestly kinda ruining it for me. Of course, I'm not a huge fan, I'm just married to one. But I still don't like when my favorite moments are just... dismissed.

I think the writers of King of the Hill have really dropped the ball with John Redcorn, especially with his relationship with Nancy Gribble. That affair was a recurring joke for several seasons and he ended it in an absolutely fantastic episode that cut to the heart of his and Dale's friendship

Would assume everyone knows it by now, but just in case "First the traitors, then the invaders" is an explicit reference to The Turner Diaries, where a white supremacist revolution overruns "The System" and kills all their enemy during the evocatively named "Day of the Rope".

You know, i revisited the X-Men films recently and I don't think they quite hold up, whereas Rise of the Silver Surfer is still cheesey and entertaining.

But I love Chiklis as the Thing and the costume is fantastic. If I recall he specifically asked for a practical suit as opposed to motion capture

My issue with 05 is that it just sorta.... meanders. It takes so long for it to go anywhere and then all of a suddent we are in the third act. It's not that long of a film but it certainly feels long.
