Today was my interns’ last day with us and one drew me a tapir as a thank you. He remembered me telling him they are my favorite animals way back in June! Really enjoyed spending time with this crew. Gonna miss them!

Today I learned that roadrunners will sit under hummingbird feeders to snatch them as they are feeding and that really messes with my idea of what a roadrunner is.

Visited the Moore Lab with my interns today. Always sobering to see the remains of creatures that no longer exist as creatures. These are Carolina Parakeets.

Got to go behind the scenes at the Science Center Living Collections today and I am pleased to report there are bins there full of toys for the octopuses.

This one was very much Not For Me. Oh well.

I love these books so much. This is the last in the series so I guess it’s time to start the next series.
