This is obviously very serious, but as much as anything it just reinforces how immature and fragile Musk’s character is. It’s not rational or logical to take this approach just because he feels wronged or embarrassed by that interview - and that’s before you consider how extreme his position is

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)

Elon Musk, owner of X, has called the editor of the Economist "a traitor to the West, plain and simple" after her recent interview with him. He now argues that "anyone who opposes remigration is a traitor" Musk has been socialising violence since Aug25: "fight or die, that's what it comes down to"

Yes & herein lies the problem. When Labour was dragged to the hard left by Corbyn, centre-left Labour MPs fought for their traditions and their principles. When the same thing happens in the Tory party, centre-right Conservative MPs go gently into that good night.

The Tory MPs left who are properly centre right at heart are resolutely keeping their mouths shut, having learnt from the Johnson purge in 2019 that they’ll just be replaced by people who will do as they’re told, regardless of the damage to the Party.

Have always found Habib an interesting character. Through Brexit to 2026, its clear many on the right - Farage included, as Habib confirms in the video is motivated primarily by money - are in it for the grift or are useful idiots. Habib seems smart and yet believes it all, he’s very much an outlier

The Reform donations story is obviously exploding right now, and it just so happened that on Thursday I spoke to Ben Habib, Reform's former deputy leader, about what he knew and what he thinks of Farage now. It's worth a watch, it's pretty excoriating. Some key bits: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq_L...
