Nearly a day later, expanded evacuation order zone near Lillooet not showing up in the BC Wildfire app. Not great!

The Conversation UKA large trial found no evidence that Hepa air filters reduce respiratory infections in care homes, challenging assumptions about their role in infection control.
I don’t understand how this got published. It would be akin to saying “seatbelts don’t save lives” because of a study when people who didn’t use them properly had just as bad injuries as people who didn’t use them at all.
Mark UngrinNot only did only ~12% of participants get in-room HEPA (sharing common areas with the other 1,570 who didn't, with "up to 5" shared HEPAs), in-room HEPAs were only (reportedly) "usually" (which is...not a scientific unit of measure! 🙄) turned on. For "pragmatic" read "sloppy"
This 👇🏽 is terrific news! Now we need to replicate this across all of Ontario and Canada!!

Cory Doctorow argues that the best way to reclaim our digital sovereignty is to jailbreak Canada. @doctorow.pluralistic.net
I appreciate that he’s addressing this head on and for the most part I think he at least makes a reasonable argument, whether or not one agrees with it. But one bit that I think is dubious and reckless is claiming that sticking with the existing plan would’ve made life more expensive for Canadians.
Scott RobertsonCarney: The climate plan we inherited from the previous government was well-intentioned and well-suited for the times in which it was designed ... In the current environment, the old plan was an open opportunity for those people who wish to pull Canada apart, both at home and from abroad.

Look what Nova Scotia manages to PUBLICLY report about it's primary care waiting list. In BC? We get nothing. To get any data, we can wait for cherry-picked scraps from MOH or wait months for FOI requests. Widespread lack of transparency is enabling health system failure in BC.
This fire is a few kilometres south of Lytton. Seems to have grown considerably. It has been very hot (33/34 C) here today. Fairly windy. The growth at 7pm is better than if it were 5pm. Lotsa helicopter sounds here in Lillooet.

First off - no this does not maintain a path to net-zero by 2050. This matters. If GoC wants to change its policies on climate that is of course within their elected right to do so. But they can't change the policy to make it less stringent and then claim it is on a path to net zero.
