Also I tried to get a crew together to swim in the ocean tonight but I think everyone is swimmed out lol

After swimming my marathon swim I am taking a week off wearing my Garmin watch as it is currently feeling like overbearing exercise surveillance

A few times recently people have asked me why (or for "my why") re: doing a marathon swim & it is in these moments where I wonder if I am just a terribly, overly literal person, because the answer was sort of just... to see if I could? Or, like, because I decided to? 😬

i am very lucky to work by home if by lucky i mean the house looks like a tornado hit it & i end most days with a literal headache from trying to concentrate through all the noise

summer with school-aged children & no extra $7.2 million for camps is suuuure something

I am terrible at affirmations and positive self-talk, but one thing I said to myself a bunch of times yesterday was just, “I am swimming a marathon today.” It helped. Recommend something bland & declarative for anyone else who shares this particular deficit.

(My pace was also 2:25. 😫)

(I was thinking about the around the bay swim as I finished. I had some wind but 10km in the ocean would be a whole different thing!!)

i was so hungry after my marathon swim I thought I’d probably eat two chicken burgers for dinner but it’s dinner time & i’m just going to eat one. disappointing!
